PROS:

 BOTTOM LINE:

"A celeb site with a good amount of content but nothing unique that sets it apart from the crowd."
The celebrity niche is definitely a bit different from other niches. Generally speaking celeb content comes in three sources: movie scenes, photoshoots/appearances, and paparazzi. Some sites specialize in one or another but most in the celeb niche simply cram in as much as they can get there hands on from any of the sources. Celebrities on Net does the latter with all kinds of pics (and movie screen caps) along with videos that are mostly nude scenes from films.

The Good:

- Good Amount of Content. Overall Celebrities on Net has nice amounts of both pictures and videos. Browsing around they seem to have all the big name celebs along with a whole host of other women who would be considered second tier chicks. There were a couple I searched for that weren't included but overall the size of the site is a positive.

- Straightforward Navigation. A name search tool brings back quick and accurate results and can be filtered to search all content or just videos. Otherwise celebs are listed alphabetically by first name (I wish they'd gone with last name but it's not a big deal). The only other thing I'd point out about the design is that the member's area isn't nearly as flashy as the guest tour.

The Bads:

- No Video Preview Pics. Basically members are left flying blind when it comes to watching video clips. None have any preview pic, title, length, or scene info. The only info provided is file size. This is the biggest problem with the site, it's a pain in the ass to stream or download vids without knowing what you're gonna get. Just about all the videos are very short at 1 minute of less.

- Standard Celeb Content. I've reviewed many celeb sites over the years and Celebrities on Net doesn't have anything exceptional or different that can't be found on a host of other sites. I suppose the only section that was kind of unique is the "Scandal Celebrity SexTapes" which has 15 videos in it including Paris Hilton's and Tanya Harding's.

Conclusion:

Celebrities on Net kind of falls in amongst the crowd of other celebrity sites. They update once every few days usually with a handful of new photos. Hopefully they'll make some improvements to the videos because that would help make things more user-friendly and entertaining.

1st Follow-Up Review Review: 01-03-07

Browsing through Celebrities on Net I see that one of the negative points from my initial review no longer applies. The video clips now have preview thumbnail pictures (one per vid). Other than that change the internal workings of the site seem to be the same. They've continued updating with new content and my searches for celebs remained hit and miss. The biggies are there along with a bunch of others. Some of the names I was searching for still aren't included. My overall consensus remains that Celebs on Net is a decent sized site with pretty standard celeb material.

Score increased from 69.9 to 73.0.
