CarolCox.com is an amateur site unlike any other. If I had just one word to sum up this entire website it would certainly be HUGE. Carol Cox is the original internet amateur and has been sharing her sex life with fans online for about 10 years now. The site is slightly newer than that and it certainly has evolved over the years with Carol adding more pictures, more features, and more adult entertainment than you could possibly know what do to with. There are only two qualifications to enjoy this site. You need to like amateur porn and you need to like it hardcore. If that's you, you're going to love Carol Cox.
It's difficult to know where to begin on this site. Arriving in the member's area is a bit overwhelming but that's more due to the sheer volume of content than any navigational or design problems. In fact, Carol and her crew just recently redesigned the entire site giving it a much needed facelift and better organizing the collection. It will still take you some time to find your way around and get used to the way things are set up so be prepared to spend a while on your first visit just figuring things out. Things are additionally complicated by a few mislabled links but I know they're still changing things over to the new design so hopefully the links will be corrected soon.
Carol has her personal photo collection divided into categories which makes browsing her many galleries much easier. However, the categories are not the usual list of blowjob, orgy, lesbian, anal, etc because pretty much every one of Carol's sets includes every one of these activities! Instead, her categories are based on location/event. She has her travel pictures that follow her many exploits in Hedonism, her Casting Couch pictures that were taken during her camshows (which she never does alone), her Short Story pictures that feature Carol in various fantasy roles (boxer, doctor, Alice in Wonderland), and her massive archive of shots taken in the first few years of the site. The only thing that other amateur sites have that Carol's doesn't is a softcore section. You'll be hard pressed to find a gallery of Carol coyly stepping out of a bustier and thighhighs. Carol is all hardcore all the time.
As with any site that has been around for a few years, picture quality varies quite a bit. The older pictures look, well, older. The newer pictures are much better though not as good as they could be. They range in size fromm 400x600 to 600x800 and all look unmistakably amateur. However, it's important to remember that Carol is billed as the original internet amateur. Sure they could post better looking and larger photos but that would be stepping too far onto the "pro" side of things. Carol and her husband started this site, and continue it, because they like being kinky sex fiends and sharing their adventures with friends and strangers alike. That enjoyment really comes out in her photos (and if there's any doubt just go read their request on the forum. They're looking for 10 or so guys to come fuck Carol just for the fun of it, no cameras or anything. Carol just wants some boytoys!). Basically, the pictures look like what you'd expect on an amateur site, just maybe not what you'd expect to find on the most successful amateur site on the net.
Carol's video collection is organized identically to her photo collection and, in fact, all of the videos come from the same events as the photos. Most of the videos come with multiple bandwidth options and some have the additional choice of Windows Media or Quicktime. Unfortunently, I couldn't get any of Carol's Casting Couch videos to work and those make up over 50% of her personal videos. That was disappointing. Hopefully that's simply another bug they're working through on the redesign. Instead I went over to her Short Stories section and watched a few clips there. My comments on the photos hold true for the videos. They look just how you'd expect videos to look on an amateur site. They're a little jumpy, a little grainy but overall completely acceptable for an amateur site.
There is a ton of additional content that needs to be mentioned because Carol's photos and videos just skim the surface of this site. I'll start with the most important - the WildRose Network. There are over 52 additional sites that members get access to including two we've already reviewed, Joy of Spex and Brandi 4 U. We'll be reviewing the entire network next week. Another big bonus is Carol's Wild Girls. Here you'll find hundreds of other amateurs who have submitted 20-100 pictures to Carol for her site. Of course there is also the message board, live cams, games, jokes, stories, personals and more. The bottom line is that just when you thought you've seen everything here you'll turn a corner and find another huge section of more porn than you know what to do with.
There is a reason CarolCox.com is the longest running and certainly most successful amateur site on the internet - she stayed true to her roots. She doesn't worry herself with perfect posing in far off mansions while wearing a ton of makeup only to be airbrushed anyway. She didn't raise her prices (a very reasonable $20 a month) when she became the biggest amateur site available. That would only scare away her very loyal fanbase who just want to see Carol do what she does best, have sex. The site isn't perfect. I for one wouldn't mind a boost in content quality in particular. However, no other amateur site even comes close to offering what Carol does, a massive collection of mostly exclusive porn of a woman who loves what she does updated daily at a very fair price. Carol Cox is the original and ultimate internet amateur.

One year later and Carol is still going strong, but should we expect anything less from Ms. Cox who is now going on 11 years on the web? Sure, the site has grown since our last visit but it's tough to say exactly how much since spotting new content on this huge site can be difficult. She's got more videos, more pictures, and her network as grown, as well. Carol also recently launched a new site, The Adult Lifestyles Network, an adult community focusing on all things sex - parties, chat, adult travel, personals, and more. It's just another way to spend hours and hours on Carol's site. Anyhow, since the site is still much the same, my score will remain, as well. The Wild Rose crew is still plugging along which is remarkable after so many years. This site remains a great join for amateur/swinger lovers.
