BreeOlson.com is the official site of pornstar Bree Olson. Individual star sites like this are unique in that there are different expectations from what you might find on a standard paysite or even a solo amateur performer. What I look for is a balanced mixture of content that incorporates straightforward pic/vid content along with personal behind-the-scenes and interaction items. So that’s the approach I take going into a review like this. The guest tour here is actually pretty informative with a nice sampling of what Bree has going and the different components of the site so that’s a good start for guests to see what she’s all about.
The Goods:
- Hardcore, Solo, & Personal Pic/Vid Content. While the number of picture galleries and video isn’t all that large the content does have some variety. First off Bree is a hot blonde chick that kind of has a college girl look about her and her shoots range from amateur style to polished studio shoots. Bree has solo, hardcore boy/girl, hardcore girl/girl, plus some behind-the-scenes entries such as her traveling and cooking.
- Picture Zips, Full-Vid Files & Clips. The content choices work well for what she has available. The pictures are nice quality and can be viewed online or downloaded as zips. Full-movie files are available for the videos with three quality levels of WMV and one MPEG. WMV clips are also an option. She actually organizes both the pictures and videos in one section called “Scenes” and some shoots have both while others just have only pics or vids.
- Blog, Twitter, Calendar, Cam Features. Interaction seems to be one of Bree’s strengths largely because she has incorporated so many different features. These include blog, twitter, news, Ask Bree, member feedback postings, and webcam appearances. The member’s home page includes several of these different components right up front and it seems she’s pretty good about keeping twitter active.
The Bads:
- Newer Site, Average Amount of Content. Bree’s picture and video content items date back to late 2007 so the site is relatively new on the scene. Also, I believe she recently won the best newcomer AVN award so she’s not been around all that long either. Basically this means the content collection is not all that large and growth is something that will be interesting to watch in the future.
- Average Shoot Details & Organization. As I mentioned earlier her scenes include a mixed bag of stuff like solo, hardcore, and behind-the-scenes. The older items have a short written summary providing background on the shoots but newer entries don’t have that info. Furthermore Bree doesn’t have any real content categorization. Either breaking things down by type of action or at least separating the galleries from the videos would help. Right now she just throws it all in one catch-all section.
- Inconsistent Blog Entries & Cam Shows. Bree’s blog entries can be long full page postings or shorter at just a few sentences long. Looking over the history she generally gets just a few entries online each month and there are some sizable gaps. The webcam details are sparse for her shows but instead link to cam networks. At the time of this review there is a note that no upcoming shows are scheduled.
Conclusion:
Bree’s site has all the fundamentals in place that you’d want to see from a solo pornstar site. The content has stuff from a variety of sources including movie and photography shoots plus some backstage material. A whole host of interaction features are a part of the site too which something that fans want from an official site. What’s holding Bree back is that she hasn’t yet compiled a large database of content and there is varying activity on the interaction features.
