Intro

Black Men Digital is the online presence of Black Men Magazine and this site has photo galleries, videos, articles/interview, and magazine archives. The site is actually operated by the Swank Mag (Swank Magazine) company which has websites for many of their publications. The focus here at Black Men Digital is on glamour soft-core style shoots of ebony models. Pictures are the main focus of things with a smaller amount of video clips.

The Pros

Glamour Ebony Magazine, Softcore Photo & Video Content.

The centerpiece of the content is the photo galleries since there are hundreds of those in all. Studio magazine style shoots dominate the collection with stylish creative settings and also blank one color backdrops and some outdoor locations. Basically you'll find sexy pro looking black models in all sorts of solo softcore stripping and posing. The videos section is a bit more of a mixed bag with softcore shoots along with some behind the scenes and event type items as well.

Magazine Issue Archive, Interviews, & Casting Call Shoots.

These are the few other main items of note found in the member's area. The Black Men Magazine issues go back to June 2005 and they seem to publish 4 or 5 per year. There are just over two dozen total issues in here. Q&A text interviews with models are also available and there are also casting call shoots with each one featuring prospective magazine models in more amateur style snapshots. Additionally there is a 'Read News' section with events, models, concepts fashion, technology, etc, with varying amounts of content.

Other Good Stuff:

Photo galleries include a few image size choices along with downloadable zip files.
Navigation options include clear picture, video, mag archive sections along with niche categories and a model index with bio information.
All content items are date-stamped and they average three new photo galleries per week plus they post the new magazine issues are added when complete.

The Cons

Sporadic Video Updates, Many Short Clips & Mix of Formats.

Older videos on the site tend to be the longer ones with some coming in at 10, 20 or 30 minutes or even over an hour long. After that handful of older items however the majority are around 1 to 3 minutes and are short clips. Quality is average and formats vary from some scenes with multiple WMV levels and Flash MP4 to others that have fewer choices including newer ones with just Flash MP4. In general the videos section is quite a jumble and not very focuses both in terms of the formatting and the actual content shoots themselves.

Some Very Small Photo Galleries, Lots of Heavy Airbrushing.

While there are a lot of photo galleries there are many of the sets that only have a handful of images (around 5 pics or less). This really makes a total amount of content smaller than the number of galleries might suggest. Many of the pictures also have a massive amount of airbrushing going on that goes beyond what I would expect from even magazine style content. Some sets are better than other but this is something that jumped out at me while browsing through the collection.

Minor Negatives:

Model interview are text Q&A style instead of video segments.
There are quite a number of ads and upsells in the member's area including standard banner ads and also phone chat lines.

The other

SSX Magazine issue are included in the archive in addition to Black Men Magazine.

Bottom Line

Black Men Magazine content with a focus on picture content over videos.

The main assets to Black Men Digital are the photo galleries and the magazine issue archives. They do update the picture section consistently however the airbrushing on the images is something to take note of since many surfers have strong opinions on that, either good or bad. The videos section is kind of all of the map with a few really long clips and a bunch of very short videos. There isn't much in the way of focus there especially in the formatting. Overall the site is okay but they could do a better job showcasing the content since his is a print publication that is no doubt more well structured than this site.
