Intro

Bijou Gay Movies is a vintage gay video site featuring scenes pulled from Bijou Video's collection of classic gay porn videos. The scenes were all filmed from the 1960s through the 1980s, so you can expect a styling and approach to sexuality that is completely different from what we see in more modern gay movies. Come get inspired by gay liberation of last century with these hot films.

The Pros

Unique collection of scenes.

Bijou Gay Movies has a rare archive of movies that I haven't seen on any other sites Their collection includes series like Dormitory Daze, Hooked on Hispanics, Raw Impulse, and Bulging Jock Straps. These scenes were shot pre-condom porn so it's all bareback, baby. You'll see interracial, groupsex, blowjobs, and anal, bears, twinks, and studs in this great original collection.

Other Good Stuff:

They've got a pretty good-sized collection of content. There are currently 427 scenes from 60 DVDs, which isn't bad at all for a niche site like this.
Although no update dates are provided, the webmaster assures us that a new scene is added to the site each and every day.
There are a few options for watching the movies. Each scene can be streamed in your browser using Flash or downloaded as an H.264 mp4 in two quality settings.

The Cons

Retro content = retro quality.

As you'd expect with movies that are 40 years old, quality leaves much to be desired. The scenes look OK considering their age, but members should still be prepared for scenes that aren't entirely sharp with coloring that is off at times.

Could use more browse tools.

The set-up here is pretty simple. You can browse the videos by scene or name but that's it. There are no categories and no actor indexes, not even a list of the top-rated scenes despite having a rating system in place. As the site grows, more tools will be needed.

Minor Negatives:

It would be great if they provided actual update dates so members can know when each scene was added.
There are no photos here, just vidcaps.

Bottom Line

The site could be more advanced but the collection of vintage movies is entertaining.

Bijou Gay Movies offers members a great opportunity to download a rare archive of vintage gay erotica. The site has some decent user tools in place, although there's room for more. The collection is good-sized and with daily updates, it's worth the price of $30 a month.
