For $29.85 per month Backstage 24 brings you a behind the scenes look into the makings of porno. If you ever wanted to see what goes into the production of making an adult film, or just want to see how pornstars act backstage, then this is your ticket into the studio. Backstage 24 is a brand spankin new site at this point, but so far they've managed to add about 26+ episodes in just 1+ month’s time. Right away I see plenty of room for improvement as the member's area still looks rough around the edges. Also video quality could still be better, but updates are being added often and overall it looks like they're off to a good start so far.
The Good:
- Exclusive behind the scenes content gives users a different look into the world of adult film making. Episodes can run anywhere from 10-20+ minutes in length and scenes include studio set-ups, behind the scenes filming and everything that goes into the crazy world that is adult porno; scenes being shot 3+ times, conversations, lube prep, and even...ehm...bowel movements...text at the bottom of the screen helps keep you in the loop.
- Videos offer full-length Flash streams or Windows Media downloads. Bitrates go up to 1400 and the video quality looks even better than you'd think for that speed.
- Short descriptions are given for each episode. This way you can pick and choose scenes based on what takes place in the film.
The Bad:
- Small site/somewhat expensive. It's all new, but for almost $30 bucks per month they better pick up the pace, and quick. 26+ videos for $29.85 is more than $1 per video.
- Browse options could be expanded with a model index & categories. I'd also like to see some model bio information offered with each video.
The Conclusion:
Small site = quick review. There's really not much to say, except for that this is an entertaining site on a more curiosity level. The entertainment value is high, but I'm not sure it's the type of content most people want to jerk off to. Quality could still be better, and a model index with bio information would be an easy add, especially since it's so early in the game. In the end though, they've set their price point way too high; it would definitely be enough to scare me away, but there is some potential for sure.
