Alter Pic is the home of fetish amateur Anna Rose. My philosophy on solo girl sites is that it's best for them to have a specialty beyond just being a solo girl. The number of amateurs is so huge that any ability to separate oneself from the crowd is big plus. Anna Rose goes well beyond having a specialty with her slavegirl fetish content. This chick is totally into the fetish scene and that's what her site is all about from top to bottom.
The Goods:
- Fun/Creative Amateur Fetish Content. The style of shoots available is impressive in that it goes way beyond just one girl dressing up in latex or something like that. All sorts of outfits, restraints, tools, machines, and concepts are used. The shoots include solo girl along with one-on-one and groups. Anna Rose does both guy/girl and girl/girl scenes. She exceeded my expectations as far as fetish enthusiasm goes.
- Steady Updates, Detailed News Section. One of the main pages for members is the "News" section which has a lengthy archive of updates. There is also some special announcements included there for things like changes in the video options and similar stuff. While the update pace isn't overly fast she does make steady additions to the site.
- Good Content Facts & Bio. Throughout the site there are some decent data provided for the content. There is an active content count for members and guests that includes number of pictures and videos (amount of vids & total length in hours). For the individual video files she lists the length in minutes plus the file sizes in MB. Her bio info includes a page on the tour along with more detailed info in the member's area.
The Bads:
- Most Videos are Only in QT Format. This is something that has been changed just before this review. Until March '08 Anna Rose used QuickTime as her video format. Therefore most of her movies are in that format. Now she has raised the quality level and gone to both WMV and QT for future additions. Downloading fans will want to take note of this formatting issue since QT it's pretty rare to see a site rely on QT as heavily as she does.
- Navigation Could Be Improved. There were some navigation issue that popped up while I browsed the site. For instance the Galleries page for members has the collection broken down by groups of months and the listings include pic galleries intermixed with video clips. There's a separate section for the videos so this was odd. Also, when clicking on the "Home" link takes members back to a tour page where it's necessary to click on "log-in" again before heading to the pic or video pages. Little things like this made me feel that the navigation could be smoothed over.
Conclusion:
At Alter Pic Anna Rose's biggest strength is the fetish atmosphere she puts forth. As a solo girl based site it really is the one thing that defines her site and makes her target audience a fetish-geared one as opposed to surfers interested in finding a solo amateur. She forgoes things like cam shows and interaction and focuses just on the picture gallery and video parts of the site.
