Adult Video Planet is a kind of hybrid between a paysite and an AVS (Adult Verification Service). The idea is membership buys you access to a network of participating sites, all of which are similarly formatted and offer DVD movie content. Another big player in this genre is Deluxe Pass which you may or may not be familiar with; feel free to click over to check out their details too. Adult Video Planet seems to be in the growth stage. Participating sites totals about 100 but no one category contains what would be considered a whole lot of sites. Typical pic and video AVS's have thousands of sites and in my mind these hybrid ones should have at least several hundred sites, so Adult Video Planet comes up short in the quantity arena.
Initially the design looks sharp and professional but after browsing I discovered the organization could use some help. The participating sites list is one long page of categorized links with a thumbnailed screen cap for each. Too much scrolling is required. I don't know that they had any choice though; there just aren't enough sites to justify a separate page for each category. Furthermore while a text list at the top of this page has the categories alphabetically (clicking one jumps to that section), but the rest of the page lists these categories in a seemingly random order. Here's the beginning of the list: Newest Sites, Fat Sites, Black Sites, Big Tit Sites, Legs & Feet Sites, Archive Sites, etc. There's just no rhyme or reason to it; they should have done these alphabetically too.
All the videos in the network are formatted the identically. They're all Windows Media Player that can be downloaded or streamed. Four speeds are available: Dial-Up, Low, Medium, and High. The High quality ones look excellent and the Medium are nice too. I like the video quality, that's probably one of Adult Video Planet's strongest points. Each video is broken into 7 clips or can be watched as from start to finish as a full scene. To sum up, there are numerous viewing choices for these Windows Media files.
All the expected niches are represented: Teen (13 sites), Lesbian (5 sites), Asian (7 sites), Gangbang (2 sites), Amateur (4 sites), Anal (5 sites), Interracial (5 sites), Hardcore (7 sites), and more. There isn't much straying from mainstream hardcore porn except for the handful of sites in the hairy, fat, tranny, and gay niches. Furthermore this is not exclusive porn. If you're a connoisseur of DVD porn sites then a whole lot of these scenes and stars will be familiar. I even noticed repetition within this network, I remember running across the same scene on two of the asian sites.
Yes, Adult Video Planet will satisfy you if you're in desperate need of a porn movie fix. At the same time there are other movie sites and even competing video AVS networks that can give you much more DVD porn in a better designed site for the same amount of money or less. Membership costs $29.99/mo. That price will look more reasonable if they continue to build their network but right now their pricing themselves as one of the more expensive DVD porn sites while delivering a product that's somewhat inferior to some of the top notch video sites.

In the 2 years since our initial review Adult Video Planet has added some sites into the fold although not as many as I would have expected. Comparing notes with the categories I mentioned in my initial review it looks like many sections have added anywhere from 1 to 5 sites. The site quantity issue still dogs this AVS a bit especially in some of the smaller niches which only have 1 or 2 sites total. Also, I don't really see the huge archive sites that could stand as flagships in the network; most sites house one or two dozen movies. The downloading options have held steady to with multiple (4 to be exact) quality level clips and full scenes. I still wish they'd bump up the top level to be higher resolution because right now they're just in the middle of the pack in this area compared to other movie sites.
