Adult Rental is a video-on-demand site with a pay-per-minute structure or flat rate 3-day rentals of movies. The site is straightforward with its layout as guests can browse the collection to see what they have to offer before signing up. There is also info about the payment structures available although they do tease surfers with a free sampling of minutes to spur sign-ups.
The Goods:
- Huge DVD Collection from Many Studios. This is the biggest asset of most PPV DVD sites out there and Adult Rental is no exception. I'm very impressed with the number of overall movies but also the wide ranging studios from which they draw their collection. All sorts of porn is represented and just about every well known and little know porn girl can probably be found on the site.
- Nice Design, Some Useful Browsing Tools. The overall design is professional with the usual tools like niche categories, studio selections, and pornstar browsing. The pornstar one is particularly good in that they list the names of well known girls along with the barely known performers. The only thing missing is thumbnail pictures, that would really help.
- Several Vid Quality Choices. The video quality choices range anywhere from 3-6 per movie. The newer videos have higher quality options available while older stuff only has more average quality files.
The Bads:
- In-Browser Streaming Only Videos. Whereas the huge video library is the strength of PPV sites the in-browser streaming only videos is always the biggest drawback. Nowadays many surfers want high quality downloadable files so the PPV model will not be of interest to many of you out there.
- Somewhat Slow Video Buffering. Watching the videos would be improved if the buffered faster. This goes for right when a movie is first opened and when you click to a different part of the film.
- Pay-per-minute Can be Expensive. This is the nature of things for a PPV streaming site. With their pricing structure just a couple full movies costs more than many of the DVD download sites that are out there.
Conclusion:
Adult Rental has what you'd expect from a PPV download site. As a surfer the main things that should be explored when checking out the site are whether they have the movies you're looking for (which they probably will) and whether the pricing structure is what you're looking for. Also, the slowish video buffering is something to ponder; I know I'll be checking that out again when we get back for a follow-up review.

Taking a look around Adult Rental I see that the Good/Bad bullet points from my initial review still apply. Generally VOD sites don't really make huge conversions to their setup. Video quality is one area where I believe they've stepped things up. Scrolling through the older movies I found the high-res file options available on each title. During my initial review the older movies had only the medium and lower levels. They continue to grow the number of movies available making their already huge collection even bigger. The two areas that remain points of contention for me are that they don't have an update log with specific dates and the model index still doesn't have thumbnail pictures. Finally, I also see they've set up a free trial of 30 minutes for TBP users.
Score increased from 78.5 to 80.0.
