Absolute Vids is a movie site with quite a lot of sample thumbnails and video trailers on the guest tour. Quite a large number of movies can be sampled there which will give you an accurate feel for the type of shoots that are in the member's area. The emphasis is on Gonzo style scenes with a professional style about them.
The Goods:
- Gonzo Boy/Girl, Girl/Girl, & Groups. The content does deliver on the Gonzo theme with variety being a key asset. There is a lot of boy/girl banging along with girl/girl, and groups of all sorts. Other stuff I saw includes toys and anal. None of these styles overwhelms the collection as there is quite a bit of everything.
- High-Res Videos, Clips & Full-Files. The video quality is one thing that's touted on the guest tour and the site does follow through with sharp high-res movies. Streaming and downloading are both offered in WMV format (Flash is also available for streaming) with five quality levels for each. The movies have five clip segments, full-files, and "extras" clip. The video resolution is clearly one of Absolute Vids's biggest strengths.
- Sexy Models in Every Movie. Generally I don't reference this for a movie site but throughout all the movies there are just very sexy babes. I could be wrong but they seem to be European models. Either way the sexiness of the performers was nice enough throughout to deserve mentioning.
The Bads:
- Browsing/Search Tools Could Be Improved. The navigation options include browsing by most recent, top ranked, this week, and a keyword content or model search. I found the keyword search to be basically useless with only bonus content coming up for mainstream search words like anal, blow, bj, etc. What's totally missing are categories of movies (i.e. boy/girl, girl/girl, groups, anal, etc.) or some sort of browsing by model. Also the content is hosted on a 3rd party URL which is unusual and something we TBP notes on the site facts.
- Fairly High Monthly Price. At $34.95/mo Absolute Vids is price higher than most of your mainstream downloadable movie sites and reality/video networks. While they have followed through on the high-res videos there are issues of quantity and exclusivity which make it seem a little overpriced. Anytime a site costs more than $30/mo it something I notice and question.
Conclusion:
Absolute Vids is a movies site with a different look and feel to it than the typical DVD download site. They stay on the narrower focus on Gonzo and have the high quality videos as their main selling point. While the site design looks sharp the navigation really is an issue which might have something to do with the whole 3rd party URL set up so they can resell the content to other paysites.
